What we do

Bridges Reconnect provides support to young people between the ages of 12 and 18-years-old who are at risk of homelessness, or have recently become homeless. It provides free confidential support to young people (and their families, where appropriate) to assist young people to:

  • Stay at home until they have the necessary skills to become independent.
  • Connect with support services if they have become homeless.
  • Re-engage with their communities (and families, where appropriate) through counselling, mediation and general support.
  • Better deal with conflict within family homes when young people are at risk of homelessness.

We can help parents, guardians and families to:

  • Work things out with their young people.
  • Communicate better with their young people.
  • Address and mediate conflict issues within the family.
  • Set family goals and limits.
  • Learn new strategies for coping with conflict within the family home that is placing their young people at risk of homelessness.
  • Learn to live apart but stay connected to their young people.
