Mary and Martha’s Refuge provides a range of support services for women and their families seeking refuge from family violence. In addition to providing accommodation, Mary and Martha’s offers a high level of personal support including help with legal processes, and access to information and referral services.
We are committed to supporting women to recognise their rights, identify their strengths, make informed decisions, and actively plan their goals for creating a better, independent future for themselves and their children.
Mary and Martha’s Refuge works from a strengths-based approach, empowering women to work actively toward a better future for themselves and their children. Clients can take part in development programs including budgeting, finances and life skills development and positive parenting. We also provide an innovative arts and music therapy program designed to build self-esteem and reduce feelings of isolation.
Mary and Martha’s provide supported crisis accommodation in a highly secure unit-style refuge which includes a playground for children, a recreational area and a vegetable garden. In addition, we provide some short to medium-term supported accommodation in properties located around Brisbane.
