We understand that from time to time, families will experience stress or hardship. This may result from a wide range of situations including domestic violence, an accident or injury, the loss of a loved one, breakdown in relationships or unemployment.
Mary and Martha’s Refuge offers a range of support services for women and their families seeking refuge from family violence. In addition to providing secure accommodation, the service offers clients emotional support, legal process support, information and referral service, and assistance to re-establish themselves safely and independently in the community. Mary and Martha’s also offer a range of life skills, parenting skills, independent living and creative activities programs.

Our two emergency relief services are funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services and the Queensland Government Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services. These services are run by a team of dedicated volunteers who help people in need with food and petrol (gift cards) and assist with bill payment and emergency pharmaceuticals.
